Samara,

Southern
Guanacaste and close by Playa Buenavista, in southern
Guanacaste has become more and more a prime vacation
destination due to the new Tempisque River Bridge
"Puente de la Amistad". The
distance has become much shorter and from San José
you can reach the area now int less than 4 hours.
Samara Beach with its white sandy 4 KM long
beach is the ideal place for the whole family. The
only Pacific beach protected by a coral reef, what
also makes it a great spot for diving and snorkeling.

Km south of Samara beach is located Carrillo
Beach. Swimming is safe. Itis a great place
for moderate surf, sunbathing and walking. Also
known for it's large Coconut Avenue giving good
shade to the numerous visitors. We recommend this
place also to snorklers and divers.

Large,
white sanded and quite included in a lush vegetation,
Playa Buena Vista is ideal for sunbathing, beach
walking and moderate surf. In the north you find
an estuary (Ask a local Guide for Crocodile watching)
and to the south a river with the same name: Buena
Vista.

Tamarindo Beach
has developed to one of the most popular surf and
investment beaches in the northern Pacific. This
area was transformed from a small town the major
tourist p. Tamarindo is excellent for beach walking,
sunbathing, surfing, sport fishing, and back horse
riding or just relaxing.

Langosta is separated from Tamarindo
by Punta San Francisco. This area is special to
those who prefer walking rather than swimming. it
is a great place for species observary. Langosta
is quite popular in the local surfer community.

8 km from the Volcano you have the closest town,:
La Fortuna, a small town with its famous catholic
church in the mittle of the center square. The town
is popped with souvenir shops, restaurants, hotels,
tour operators, car rental, Medical Center and is
surprisingly quite.

Playas del Coco has been
the "Escape Beach" for the Ticos since Costa Rica
was born .... If you like diving or snorkeling, swim with
mantas or other sea creatures - this is a place you have
to dedicate some time. All Papagayo area is a paradise for
aquatic sports and activities. Fish else where is not fresher
because the fishers are out every day to bring in the new
catch to be served in the local restaurants. We have listed
